Options for paying a Dagpay Invoice via the Merchant's POS App.

Step 1. Get your DagWallet Ready

Make sure you have either a DagWallet app, a WebWallet account, or a Dagcoin Card with a sufficient amount of dagcoins on it to complete the payment. If not, then learn more about how to get and set up a dagcoin wallet and about different ways of getting dagcoins.


Step 2. Pay the Dagpay Invoice

There are two options to pay a Dagpay invoice:


Option A - Scan the QR Code

Scan the QR code in the Dagpay invoice with your DagWallet or WebWallet to open the payment in your mobile wallet. Your wallet will automatically fill and lock in the Amount and Receiver or Payment ID fields with the correct dagcoin wallet address and requested amount.


Confirm that the amount is correct and hit Send to complete the payment (make sure that you send the payment within the 30-minute payment window seen on the Dagpay invoice).


Option B - Dagcoin Card

If you have a Dagcoin Card, select the button Pay with a Dagcoin card. Depending on the merchant's device, you can pay the invoice either contactless or by entering the card details manually.



Contactless Payment

If the merchant POS device supports contactless payments (NFC), then you will be asked to hold your card against the device to scan it for payment.


If scanning is successful, you may be asked to also enter your Dagcoin card PIN code to confirm payment. Enter your PIN code to proceed with payment. 


Note: Your card PIN code is always asked after every 5 payments you have made for security purposes.



Manual Payment with Card Details

In case the merchant's device does not support contactless payments or you are unable to proceed by scanning the card, then you will be asked to pay by entering your card number and PIN code.


For added convenience, if the merchant's device has a camera, the merchant can scan your Dagcoin card number using the printed QR code on your card, avoiding the need to enter the card number manually.


If your card number is valid, you will also be asked to enter your Dagcoin card PIN code to confirm payment.


If scanning is successful and/or your entered card details and PIN code correct, then your dagcoins will be deducted from the card balance, sent to the merchant and you will be forwarded to the payment confirmation screen.



Payment Confirmation

After sending the payment from your DagWallet or Dagcoin Card, Dagpay will then keep track of the payment status and notify the merchant when payment is sent and confirmed. This takes on average around 30 seconds. You can also request the merchant for a payment receipt by sharing your email address.


Note that waiting for confirmation is not required and you may also leave the Dagpay invoice view if you do not wish to wait. The payment will still be confirmed nevertheless.
